Federal Relations Committee

Hope everyone is keeping warm. The Federal Relations Committee hosted an event called the Legislative Briefing on October 26, 2009 at the Russell Senate House in the District of Columbia. This event was conceived and hosted by the Federal Relations Committee to help members build a relationship with those on the Hill who write the laws that impact the financial aid community and our students. We had 12 staff members from the House and Senate and 30 financial aid administrators present from various school sectors. We were able to meet and mingle with staffers, and ask and answer questions. We had a panel representing each sector during a formal discussion and plenty of time for informal discussions as well. The event was a success! Our thanks to all who contributed their time and participated. It matters!

Our next scheduled event will be a Hill visit in February. Please watch your Tri-State emails for more details. We would love to have another wonderful turnout for this event as well.

Again, thank you so much for your support throughout this year. Without YOU our goals cannot be successfully accomplished. We hope that our events and our email updates are supporting you to get your job done. Please let us know what you need from us!
