If you haven't done so already: sit back, relax, and take a deep breath. Wow! Feel better? I hope so as the summer is over and hopefully your workload has lightened up. You've disbursed all eligible aid, completed your state and federal reports, and are preparing for spring registration which is not far away.

As mentioned back in June, one of my goals is to increase member communication. As I hope you've seen, messages have come out after each board meeting updating you on what was discussed. I hope you have found these valuable. We welcome your feedback. Remember, this is our association. We can only be as successful as we make ourselves.

Our committees are hard at work...Neophyte is weeks away. PD&T has once again organized this great new professional workshop. It's not too late to register your new staff. Federal relations are working on an event on Capitol Hill to network with our Congress people. We hope you can attend or send a representative from your office. And lastly, our annual conference is one month away, have you registered? Don't miss out on great training sessions, including a federal update from Greg Martin.

As we move through the fall and into winter, don't forget to watch the listserv for announcements about future trainings and networking events. These are a few of the valuable benefits available to members. So, if you haven't done so already, go out and renew your membership. Your membership will expire next month.
