Greetings from Maryland ASFAA!!!

It's another busy and interesting start to the 2009-2010 academic year. I wish all members of the financial aid community another great year of processing!

The Maryland Committee had a successful 2008-2009 year! We participated in two community service events with the Maryland Food Bank and the Orioles' Wives Club. We helped raise over $30,000!

We hosted a networking event over the holidays! We had a great evening of pizza, fun, networking, and bowling! The Maryland Committee coordinated the Guidance Counselor Workshop at four locations with hundreds in attendance.

This year the MD Committee is hoping to continue participation with one community service event, one networking event, Bill 2 Law Day, and the School Counselor Workshop (no longer called Guidance Counselor Workshop).

Other events for Tri-State include:

• Neophyte Workshop: October 11 - 16 in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware
• Fall Conference: November 9-11 in Dover Downs, Delaware
