The year has come to an end. I have handed the reins of leadership over to the new Chair for 2009-2010. It has been a privilege to serve an organization with the dedication of Tri-State. During these difficult economic times, I can honestly say that Financial Aid Administrators are survivors. Many faces have changed but the job is still getting done as we strive to make students our focus and provide the tools they will need to be successful.

I want to express my appreciation to the Executive Board for their support. These individuals are the backbone of our association – providing leadership, coordinating training, and planning events on a day-to-day basis.

Best wishes to Michael Poma, the new chair for 2009-2010, and the Executive Board as they face a new year of challenges.

Now I will be wearing a new hat! I will step into the position as Chairperson for the Nominations and Elections Committee. Our committee will be preparing a slate of candidates to serve as State Presidents, Chair-Elect and Vice-Chair (leaders of the Fall Conference committee). Are you interested?? I would like to encourage all members of Tri-State to consider stepping up to the plate and serving our organization as an elected officer. As a member who has worn many hats for this exceptional organization, I can assure you that the rewards are worth the challenge.

I look forward to new endeavors of serving in this position with DE-DC-MD ADSFAA.
