Statement of Ethical Principles

During the 2007-2008 Executive Board Retreat, the committee chairs, state presidents, and officers developed an Executive Board Member Statement of Ethical Principles. The Executive Board holds itself to high levels of professionalism and integrity; this document explains these standards to the Association members and any other interested parties.

DE/DC/MD ASFAA, Inc.
Executive Board Member Statement of Ethical Principles

An Executive Board Member shall:

  • Fulfill the Vision Statement of the DE/DC/MD ASFAA, Inc.
  • Commit to the highest level of ethical behavior.
  • Refrain from any activity or action that creates a conflict of interest.
  • Protect the assets of the Association and act within fiduciary guidelines.
  • Represent the membership in his/her elected or appointed role and function, not from his/her individual organization’s perspective.
  • Refrain from business- or institutional-related promotional or marketing activities at Executive Board or Committee meetings.

Any Executive Board member who fails to adhere to the Statement of Ethical Principles may be removed from the Board. Such action, or any subsequent actions deemed necessary, shall be determined by the remaining officials who hold voting privileges on the Executive Board.
