College Goal Sunday
Submitted by:  Cissy VanSickle, Chair

College Goal Sunday was a resounding success at 20 sites, both urban and rural, throughout the TriState region. Most sites had Spanish interpreters in attendance working alongside a total of 209 volunteers from financial aid, admission and community services offices. Over 1300 people attended with many students representing the first generation in their families to consider college. Activities including a PowerPoint presentation on the FAFSA application, one-on-one counseling for parents and students filing their FAFSA online as well as review of forms and applications already completed.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s CGS a resounding success, including the site coordinators and volunteers. Also, thank you to the all of the local and regional sponsors, including The Lumina Foundation for Education, USA Funds, AES, ASA, Comcast and Radio One.
