Greetings Delaware Colleagues!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your dedication and service to students attending your institutions and the “parents” and “others” who also play a role in their postsecondary education. Without your knowledge and continued professional development, students would not be able to enroll and fulfill their education and career goals. Congratulations on a job well done!

I would also like to extend special thanks to all volunteers who helped our events to be successes this year. Our efforts will continue in 2007-08 and, now that we’re becoming more well-known in our communities, I’m sure we’ll need more volunteers to be even more successful! Please say ‘yes’ when asked to help out at an event, and please consider a leadership position within DE-DC-MD ASFAA. This will be my last year as Delaware President, so we’ll need to place some names on the ballot. Working for—and with—all of you has truly been a pleasure.

Best wishes for a successful and rewarding packaging season, and here’s hoping you enjoy some quiet and relaxing time this summer!

Greetings from the MD Committee.

You Can Afford College, which was held on January 13, 2007, was a definite success. We answered over 120 phone calls.

Thank you to Pat Shoemaker (AACC) for organizing the event. Also, thank you to the following people for taking time out of their busy schedule to answer phone calls: Theresa Lowe and Dawn Hastings (MHEC), Karen Caughey, Roger Lettie and Pat Shoemaker (AACC), Ellen Ostendorf (JHU), Kris Boyer (ED AFF), Beth McSweeney (PNC), Pat Rhodes (Towson), Ellie Geiman (McDaniel), Jerry Lovick and Janine Tipton (CCBC), Sharon Hassan (Goucher), and Zhanna Goltser (NDM).

Bill to Law Day took place on March 8, 2007. See more in the article by Karen Price.

Stay tuned to the Tristate listserv for information regarding a community service project and a spring networking event.

Have a wonderful spring and summer!
