Thanks for the Memories ......

Sharon:

I would like to thank you and the Tristate association for your thoughtful gift. I wish I could have attended the meeting, but I had a family commitment involving small, very demanding children who do not know the meaning of deferred gratification…you can imagine.

Dear Sharon:

I think some thank you's are in order.

Today in the mail I received a certificate for the “30 years and more” club for service in financial aid along with a gift card for Barnes and Noble. The return address was Goucher College, so I am guessing you or your staff mailed this out to me. I am beyond impressed that Tristate has kept these kinds of records, and recognizes long service. Thank you.

Fresh out of graduate school, I began my career in financial aid in 1974 at Albion College in Albion, Michigan, and moved to the area to become the Director at The Maryland Institute, College of Art at the age of 24. More than 25 years ago, I took the job at Georgetown to head up the office in the law school, where I have remained ever since. Who would have thought that anyone had kept track of my work history, besides me, and some days, I can’t even recall it!

Please forward my thanks to the volunteers who keep track of these things for the profession.

Assistant Dean, Financial Aid

Dear Sharon:

Thank you for the gift card! The association remains near and dear to my heart after all of these years and I wish everyone success in their professional commitments.

Again, my thanks for this gift, and best wishes in your anniversary year!

Sincerely,
Marilyn King

Dear Sharon:

Thank you and the Association for the lovely certificate of recognition for 30 years in the aid profession. I feel like I’m in the geriatric set! I suppose it’s amazing that we haven’t burnt out yet.

I also thank you for the gift card to Barnes and Noble – being married to a librarian, bookstores are our favorite places to browse and buy. If there is anyone else I should be thanking, please let me know. I do appreciate the honor and hope I make 35 years before I retire. As Hopkins pays my kid’s tuition at Vanderbilt, I have to work ‘til …. (2 ½ years away)!

Thanks very much.
