EASFAA Mentoring Scholarship Winner
The MD ASFAA Committee is pleased to announce that Aristea Williams from Montgomery College (Takoma Park Campus) has been selected as Maryland's EASFAA Mentor Scholarship Winner!

Aristea has over 5 years of progressive financial aid experience working at both the University of Maryland-Baltimore and Montgomery College. She has been an active member of DE/DC/MD ASFAA's Professional Development and Training committee for several years and has regularly volunteered at College Goal Sunday events. She holds a BA in History and MS in Higher Education from Florida State University.

Aristea is looking forward to becoming more involved in EASFAA, as it gives her the opportunity to bring lessons learned back to the DE/DC/MD association. Please join the Maryland ASFAA committee in congratulating Aristea and be sure to introduce yourself to her at the EASFAA Conference in Atlantic City!

Bill 2 Law (Day in Annapolis)
Rescheduled for and held on Tuesday, March 15, 2005. We had 11 attendees! Legislative presentations and updates were compliments of Andrea Mansfield (MHEC/OSFA), Karen Price (EdAmerica), and Beth McSweeney (UMB). After our morning sessions, we headed to Galway Bay for lunch. We were met by Delegate Rudolph (Cecil County) for a frank discussion on how legislation works in Annapolis and how we can be involved at the state level. After lunch, we headed to the State House to sit in on bills being ‘marked up’ – and experience our political process in action! A special thanks to Karen Price for organizing this event and to Andrea Mansfield and Beth McSweeney for their presentations and updates.
